A new musical
Story by
Anne Rice
Music & Book by
Lance Horne
TrueFriend Productions teams with legendary producer Howard Rosenman to bring Anne Rice's REVELATIONS to the stage.
Based on international bestselling author Anne Rice’s short story, REVELATIONS spans the ages, churning with sex, lust, fallen angels, frail humans and the possibility of redemption. An exploration of humanity as reflected between the Devil, a Composer and their Muses, women gifted with the voice of Heaven, their story starts in 17th century France, crescendos in Jazz Age New Orleans and ends in a present day desert music festival.
Lance Horne (Emmy Award winner, ASCAP Young composer award for Emerging Songwriter) will compose the lyrics, score and book.
The Sun Queen
a new musical
Written & Composed by Tarita Botsman
Inspired by a true story, The Sun Queen tells the story of Julie D’Aubigny, a female musketeer and opera singer whose hunger for life and adventure takes her from the extravagant courts of King Louis XIV to the stage of the Paris opera, a path littered with broken rules (and a few crimes) as she discovers her voice, her identity, and the choice between making love or making war.
A woman with a sword should never be ignored.
This work is currently being produced for stage and screen in conjunction with True Friend Productions, USA, and Cre8ion, Australia.
Worldwide rights are held by TL BOTSMAN.
A love story
Jen is a dancer, about to turn thirty, her peak years behind her, her future uncertain.
She meets Jim when they are suddenly trapped, one on top of the other, face to face during an earthquake. Eight hours and ten aftershocks later, it might be love.
Jim has a handsome face and beautiful hands, and he's the famous writer and illustrator of Demonji Joe, the wildly successful graphic novels featuring the thrilling adventures of his own alter ego.
But in real life, and unknown to his adoring fans, Jim was tragically deformed at birth. It’s never held him back.
Until now.
Demonji Joe is currently in development, based on an original story by Don Anderson.
An Entertainment
International sensation Meow Meow has already stormed Berlin, Paris and London. Now TrueFriend Productions, in association with ArtsEmerson and Berkeley Rep has brought this cat to Berkeley and Boston.
"She's bawdy and brash, tender and vulnerable; she's graceful and klutzy, commanding and helpless. She's a singer who hits every vocal nuance, whether serious or satiric; a high-energy dancer who could probably double as a contortionist; a comic who draws roars from pratfalls, subtle glances, punchlines and sensuality. She calls herself Meow Meow and -- need I say this after that lead-in -- she's wonderful." -Leo Stutzin Huffington Post
"Being present for “An Audience With Meow Meow’’ — and I’d strongly recommend that you do so if you can — is like taking part in a high-wire act in which the performer has invited you up onto the wire with her.
What Meow Meow delivers so wittily over 80 minutes at the Cutler Majestic Theatre is part cabaret act, part performance art, part sendup of the trappings of celebrity and the conventions of show business, and, perhaps most intriguing of all, part affirmation and heartfelt celebration of theater’s power to lodge itself in our souls." Don Aucoin The Boston Globe
Expectations are always high for Meow but whatever may go wrong, she is a professional and will undoubtedly deliver to you, her beloved audience, a BIG FINISH...but she may need your help to do it. Helmed by Tony-award nominated director Leigh Silverman, Meow Meow will sing and dance her way through a hilarious, poignant theatrical experience like no other.
